我估计没人会真招。应该是说些鸡毛蒜皮的缺点,还往POSITIVE方向上引导。但我想知道大家都怎么说的。刚来时,大部分那语言说事儿, 但几年之后还能拿语言说事儿吗?

面试其实是场游戏,问题不过是扔来扔去的皮球,双方用言谈,姿势,微笑,手势去斗智,试探,寻求共同的感觉,领会人性的张扬与收敛,试探雇主和未来职工的合作默契。如果你很自信,很得体,这个问题一带而过的。

曾经面过一家大公司研究所,据说只招北美牛校PHD中还要挑好的,我很谦虚,把自己缺点和目标说了.结果被他们取笑我,他们说,我们这里全部是EXPERT.,他们是技术是不错的,但别人谦虚就成了他们攻击的目标.....其实,就那项图形技术而言,我保证他们不如我.

专家的意见是,面试是重点介绍你怎样控制strength 和weakness 的balance, 比如
你爱帮助人,做过了就影响别人了,诸如此类,完全不必编,就说你自己。我当时听了,就感觉象毛主席他老人家的辩证法,优可以转化为缺点,缺点也可以转化为优点

朋友,当你已经展示了你的专业经历,自信的个性,符合规范,翔实的简历,和你对此工作的诚实的期待和称许,面试官应该会赞赏你用一种成熟的幽默,去回答这种其实毫无意义,近乎自虐的问题。

你的回答存在的最大问题是思路问题,在问你弱点时总是试图用一堆优点来说事,但是再多的优点也无法证明你没有弱点,当interviewer没有得到meaningful的回答时就会继续追问,一味躲闪的作法给interviewer的印象,要么是态度不诚肯,要么是communication太差。

根本没有躲闪,问题只是表象,自信的职业申请人拒绝任何自虐的怪问题,要知道这只是一个Behavior Question. 对此问题的答复是什么并不重要,面试官观察的是你的个性,你的态度,你的能力。对不舒服的问题说NO, 从来是我的答案。

这个问题作为众多公司特别是大公司question list上的常用问题之一有它存在的目的和意义,不光是HR在问,manager也在问,很难想象这些忙得四脚朝天的人会有时间闲得无寥陪你”自虐“。无疑你在这个问题上是减分的,另外从你的回答也看不太出来你的”自信“"I don't think I have any explicit weakness, and I strongly believe that because of my good communication skill, years of experience, willingness of learning and involvement of team work, I can resolve any problem arised."
years of experience 并不代表有能力
willingness of learning 也不代表学习能力强
involvement of team work 更不代表是team player

成功的老板不会纠缠于细节,成功的人,或追求成功的人总是心有灵犀一点通。当他认为你行,就会拍板,毕竟还有更重要的事情在前面,当他对你不满意,你的答案再正确,也会迷失于这场游戏中。我的观点是:提高你的内功,别指望答对一两个Behavior Question(s)就会过关。

if your job requires lots of communication with other departments/ppl, never ever use your language as your weakness, coz no matter how sucky you are, you gotta be confidence in yourself;you don't want them to feel language is an issue.

Since this is a trick question, the best way to hint your weakness would be your strength. How? People can have different answer according to background. But I had my brainstorm when read new liberal party leader's speech. So next time I will say like:“My weakness, you know I think I am people who is easy to be underestimated, but once people start to work with me, they will never regret with their decision”

这种回答面试官多半不理解,很有可能接着问:”Why do you think you are easy to be underestimated?“ ---- 不能在最短时间内体现你的能力,这无疑是一个相当大的弱点,特别是在部门之间的合作上,会影响部门的形象。

作为常用HR问题之一,这个问题一是看你对自己的弱点是怎么认识及如何处理的,是self-recognition的一部分,二是assess你说的弱点对工作和其他人的影响。对此类问题的回答,楼上个别的回答还是有误区的。

It is true everyone has weakness. But for sure, show real weakness in interview will drive you into risky. As I said before, that’s a trick question. People don’t want to know your real answer, and want to know your skills to act the tough question.

同样的一句话,不同的人说出来(表现出来)是不一样的,没法照搬说自己英语有口音的其实可能讲得比这里百分九十的人都要好。
说自己不善于讲话的人其实可能作presentation已经做的爽的很
说自己工作非常努力的人其实可能是非常layback的那一类
慢慢体会吧
问题的关键不在于说什么,而在于怎么说。
