Please include a copy of this letter with your submission.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL THE INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS SET OUT BELOW AND COMPLETE THE STEPS ACCORDINGLY. YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE FINALIZED AT THE CANADIAN CONSULATE GENERAL, SEATTLE, WA. U.S.A. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AFTER READING THE INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT THE CANADIAN CONSULATE GENERAL, SEATTLE, BY FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THEIR WEBSITE: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/seattle/visas/enquiry-how_demande-comment.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

1. Change in Family Composition
If any of the following conditions apply to you, your spouse/common-law partner or your sponsor,
You must immediately inform Case Processing Pilot-Ottawa (CPP-Ottawa), IN WRITING:

• Have you married, separated or divorced after you submitted your application?
• Have you adopted a child after you submitted your application?
• Do you intend to get married, separate or divorce prior to you becoming a permanent resident?
• Do you intend to adopt a child prior to you becoming a permanent resident?
• Has there been a death in the family?
• Has there been a change in health?
• Has there been laying of any criminal charges or conviction for a criminal offence?
• Have you a change in your contact information: e-mail address/mailing address/telephone number?

Failure to declare any changes of the above to CPP-Ottawa office could result in the cancellation of your immigrant visas and may render you and your spouse (if applicable) inadmissible to Canada. Failure to declare dependent family members during your application processing will permanently exclude them from later sponsorship in the Family Class, according to paragraph 117(9)(d) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations 2002. You cannot declare new or previously undeclared dependants when you arrive in Canada.

If none of the above conditions apply to you, your spouse or your sponsor, you may proceed with the instructions below.

2. Visa Validity
The issuance of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as requested. You must submit these items by mail. We recommend that you submit a prepaid envelope for the return of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) and passport(s). Please refer to the passport mailing instructions for further information.
• Upon receipt of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) verify your bio-data information. If there is any error, such as incorrect spelling of name, incorrect date of birth, please inform Canadian Consulate General, Seattle, immediately.
• Your permanent resident visa will expire on March 1, 2013. If your passport or the passport of your spouse expires on an earlier date, the visa will expire on that earlier date.

You must travel to Canada and present your immigration documents at a Canadian Port of Entry before the expiration date of your permanent resident visa. The validity of the Confirmation of Permanent Resident documents cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date and still wish to immigrate to Canada, you must reapply by submitting a new application and paying new processing fees. All such applications will be assessed according to the Immigration Act and Regulations in force at the time of receipt of the application. There is no guarantee a future application would be successful.

No reminder letter will be sent. You are requested to immediately act upon the instructions set out in this letter.

3. Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
Your sponsor is required to pay a Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) in the amount of CAD$490 for each principal applicant and accompanying spouse/common-law partner of that person. For further information on how to make this payment, please visit the Pay the Fee section in the CIC instruction guide: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5196ETOC.asp#pay-fee
The RPRF will be refunded if for any reason you do not immigrate to Canada.

If you are a citizen from a country that is exempt from obtaining a visa to visit Canada under Regulation 190 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, you are only required to send a photocopy of your passport (all pages) and of the passport of your accompanying spouse (all pages), if applicable.

To find out if you are visa-exempt under Regulation 190, consult this CIC webpage.

Passports for you and your accompanying spouse (if applicable) must be submitted together. There must be at least two blank visa pages in each passport. Your passport(s) must be valid for at least six months. Please note that Immigrant visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.

    • cool, thanks
      • Thanks for everyone above 顶! I will mail the passports tomorrow to Seattle and keep rolian updated!
      • Mar. 1st ME, mailed to Ottawa within two weeks, according to my doctor, more details in my previous posting:
        • OMG! I suddenly realize why my parents' PR visa expiry date Mar. 1st, 2013, After I answer (2R)'s question: b/c of the ME date!!! My guess for Ottawa cases: most of approved PR visa will expire on anniversary of ME!! Good luck to every sponsor!!!
            • Well...then I guess your case does't belong to the first batch: receiving emails last Nov. and sponsor DM Feb. Ottawa cases.
              • I think Shirley belongs our batch, I guess she used the探亲体检as移民体检
                • Well...then this belongs to special cases la.....good luck, Shirley!
    • For the self-addressed envelope, did you get the correct answer?
      • I sent my enquiry on Seattle website and the message shows of "28-day" reply. I decide to send just the plain self addressed return envelop without postage, according to the last para. in their email.
          • I used FEDEX suggested in the email; bought a plastic envelop from Canada Post, written with my home address...but no prepaid postage for our case by Canada Post (2 locations).
              • Not allowed! Check "NOTE" in 6. Last para ant last sentence.
              • Ops...I paied 46 bucks for next day delivery..actually within 18hrs...anyway, as long as successfully delivered!
                  • Yap..Downtown on Bay st. South of queen.
              • From Seattle to Toronto....or you can leave from blank.
CIC的Email里只是说“Provide a self-addressed return envelope”.
            • You are right! I even asked them to read the NOTE in my email printout and they said the note exhausted all the possibilities of "prepaid". I don't believe CIC Seattle won't
mwaitail back passports via USPS First Class Mail, b/c the lack of a few bucks of postage! We paid so much for sponsorship application, TRVs, & renewal, RPRF, etc. Keeping my fingers crossed!
            Buffalo :

            http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/visas/apply-how_a_demande-comment.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

            Detroit:

            • Thanks! I thought Xpresspost belongs to registered or certified mail....anyway, just wait for regular mail now!
          • Haha...thanks for reminding! You made my day!! Hope I receive the returned passports with visa in regular mail safely!
        • Agree with (notcertain)!! Just mailed out during lunch via Fedex. and return envelop is waterproof (from Canadda Post).
      • My concern is in 2. Visa Validity: "We recommend that you submit a prepaid envelope for the return", while in 6. The Return of your Passport(s) the "NOTE" section restrict all possibility for a prepaid option. THERFORE,
I believe section 2. word "prepaid" is an old version & only for US address, b/c
I found the mailing instruction in Seattle's webiste about mailing instruction

        http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/seattle/visas/apply-how_a_demande-comment.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

Section 6 in email has Canada NOTE, while the link above not.
        • Thanks for your kind Karin! All the best wishes!
          • You are welcome! I wish I would be the first to eat crab...eventually have positive result!!! Will keep updating!!! Within a month or so.
International!!!
      • Thanks! Hope you become the first among those whose parents in China! I guess the office won't be Seattle, so you don't need to worry about the international return envelope.
            • Also CIC email for Seattle office only applicable for mailing address in USA & Canadda. So I believe your parents would receive request from Beijing Office very soon, once Aug./07 files are finalized.
                • 1. I don't know, but guess dependent on mailing address on file. 2. Yes! I waited them to fly to Toronto and then file the additional documents last Dec., so that both their residential and mailing addresses are In Canada.
                  • yes, I have done ME requested by Ottawa.thanks for your reply. nothing to do just wait.
                • 3. No idea! maybe due to the closing of Buffalo office. 4. I believe my case still belongs to Ottawa. Even in the future Beijing requests your passports, if you're done with ME requested by Ottawa office (email address starts with "OttPilot")(inside)
your case should be Ottawa case....Passport request means DM to me, since...OttPilot email states the PR visa expiry, therefore my case is DM by Ottawa, not Seattle.
    • My online profile FYI: "We received your application for permanent residence on December 1, 2008. We started processing your application on April 24, 2012. Medical results have been received."...DM shows on July 9 (inside)...
after my email on July 5: "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. "
        • Good to know my countdown days cut in half!!
            • no...only applicant info.
    • Good News about RETURN ENVELOPE! No prepaid! Seattle replied my online enquiry about "prepaid" self-addressed return envelope (see inside):
"If your address is in Canada, you cannot submit a pre-paid envelope.  You can only submit a self-addressed envelope."

      • Really good news for you Karin, good luck! I will prepare ahead.
        • Tips: Always refer your parents' UCI or/and File# on each paper, so that documents won't be lost.
          • Nice, thank you so much Karin!
      • Hi Karin, you said you bought a plastic envelope form canada post. How come I could not find the 9"x12" waterproof envelope from their office? Did you bought the same size? Thanks
        • I bought this $2.10, link:
          • Sounds good, a little bigger with more protection on it, thanks again.
            • Thicker too, with plastic filling for protection, but much safer, I believe.
      • Just answered in your othe posting: IMMIGRATION photo, check my previous link for details:
          • Taken on July 5, same day of CIC email, in Costco.
            • thanks so much for replying!
              • My pleasure! And Costco is fast...you have the photos within 20min. or so..
Mail received on Thu. July 19, with PR Visa of July 11, upon my FedEx on July 9 delivered next morning to Seattle!!
        • yes...everthing in one envelope.
Door to door: 12:30 - 8:20pm approx 8hours.
        • Rainbow Bridge 24*7, link below:
CBSA office at which clients can receive a full range of immigration services.
      • Expiry date: Mar. 1, 2013, the anniversary date of their ME.
