Interactive Brokers (IB) offers competitive margin rates, which vary based on the account type (IBKR Pro or IBKR Lite) and the amount borrowed. Here are the current rates for USD accounts:

IBKR Pro:

Up to $100,000: Benchmark rate (BM) + 1.5% (approximately 6.33%)
$100,000 to $1,000,000: BM + 1.0% (approximately 5.83%)
$1,000,000 to $50,000,000: BM + 0.75% (approximately 5.58%)
Over $50,000,000: BM + 0.5% (approximately 5.33%)

IBKR Lite:

All amounts: BM + 2.5% (approximately 7.33%)

我刚刚开了WealthSimple 的Margin Account, 自己得放30%，所以我放了$1000，total buying power is around 3300. 我准备买$2000的ETF, 比如VDY, 当然我的每月分红基本是还利息了，但是利息是可以抵税的，我就指望靠capital gain来增加资产了。
当然，如果股市大跌，我最多也就是赔了借来的$1000而已（还有自己的$1000)。我个人觉得这种加杠杆可行，如同用mortgage买房一样。

CAD ib 的 bm 3.905, +2.5=5.405,央行利率没人称为prime, 商业银行有prime rate 5.95, p-0.5=5.45 很低,房贷利率水平,其他broker p+1以上 -xiangqian(xiangqian); 11-11 (#204540@43)
