这不是泼脏水。小哈想干的马尔罗尼几乎都干过，马尔罗尼造成百分之十几的失业率，百分之十几的利率，数百亿的赤字，民不聊生。我们这些老一辈移民吃尽马尔罗尼苦头，不可能支持小哈再次把经济带入崩溃。小哈现在整天和马尔罗尼搅和，比马尔罗尼更要极端。

Mulroney government is one of the most corrupted governments in Canada history. Old PC party was devastated by this guy. Tthanks to his great invention: GST. Even today, we still enjoy his lagacy.Hardly any Canadian thinks he is honest guy. If you take it for granted that a conservative government will reduce tax, think it twice. Hope Harper is not a Mulroney clone.

Did Mulroney have a magic hand to turn thing around? If he does not, why should we think Harper has? The best he can do is to reallocate the money and resources. Spend less here and spend more there. If he wants toreduce tax, increas military spending, he has to cut health care or other services too. So far, this guy didn't tell us much. At least, be honest please.
McGuint said he was going to reduce class size, increase health care spending without increase tax. Now you see the result . I think Mike Haris is much better.
That is why Joe Clark prefers to choose a devil he knows better than Harper.

The huge national deficite was caused by Traudau area. That is also the reason why PC took the power. Mulroney's problem was that he was too soft to Quebec separatist.He puts a lot of money and efforts to get the national unity. Mulroney was oftern attacked by his GST, but GST in effect lower the overall tax and Liberals never re-appeal the GST. NAFTA was made under Mulroney's rein and contributes a lot of the economy growth.

I think the fundamental difference between Liberal and PC are their views on function of government:Liberal want a big government and PC want a small one. I personally don't buy Harper's promise -- how could he increase Health care funding and defense investment with tax cut.? Canada has enough debts, the second highest in previous G7 (thanks to 马尔罗尼) and I don't want my son to inherit more. Just my 2 cents worth.

I don't think Harper is going to balance the budget. Cutting down health care is definitely in his agenda. Though, It is fine with me if he says it openly, I don't like the way he handles this. Too elusive and sneaky.

我对选举的浅见!我作为刚刚拥有选举权的公民,对楼上的误导十分担心. 作为移民, 此时此刻选举保守党是明智之举,因为:
1. 经济是社会发展的原动力,只要减税的目的是刺激经济就是一个好政策. 就不难理解为何美国如此发达.
2. 国防问题, 不能孤立的站在加拿大的立场去看,全球反恐已是潮流,不可能置身事外. 再说,世界上哪有免费的午餐? 让美国承担义务,加拿大享受好处? 同时,和美国的良好关系对加拿大经济发展来讲是NO#1.
3. " 正如马田批评说，哈珀会使单亲家庭无力抚养孩子。" 为什么我们要为这些不负责任的单身妈妈抚养他们的孩子?

完全不能同意1.2.31.减税不一定能促进经济,却可能造成政府赤字,通货膨胀,利率上升,最终伤害经济发展
2.恐怖主义是美国单边主义外交的后果,加拿大没有必要为美国的错误外交政策买单
3.更是不可接受,单身母亲不一定是母亲的错,更不是孩子的错,给孩子良好的环境对社会对个人都有好处.文明社会有更多的宽容和对弱者帮助.

不以为然1. 不论减谁的税,必然造成政府收入减少,赤字增加,惟有发行国债或增加货币以弥补,造成通货膨胀,不得不提高利率以免银行坏帐太多而经济危机,从而减缓经济,所以大部分只能减小量税以求政治效应而不是经济效益.
2.加拿大国小人稀,实力有限,并且能源价格上涨可以对经济有正面效果,为美国单边行动买单不但有违加国一惯的主张的联合国框架下解决问题价值观,所付出的代价也不见得有什么收益

里根给美国国民最大的贡献是经济上的。苏联的崩溃对美国平民百姓没啥影响。经济发展确实具有周期性，减税也不是万灵药。但是减税可能带来经济繁荣。当然，创造经济繁荣也并不一定要减税。

里根实行高赤字政策，靠高利率来吸引外国资金。不是真正国民收入增加了，而是借来的钱增加了。里根把美国从世界第一大债权国变成第一大债务国。马尔罗尼也去有样学样，造成两位数的失业率。克林顿没有减税，经济比里根时期还要繁荣。小布拼命减税，经济怎样大家都看得清。

是有经济周期的因素，但政策也能起到作用。2002-2003加拿大有史以来第一次没有随美国陷入衰退，便是政策对抗周期的结果。对此马丁功不可没。在下回加拿大后一直和在硅谷的一名失业3年到现在还没找到工作的电脑人开玩笑，说不把小布赶下台那就再等着吧，呵呵！

Interestin! Mulroney PC is painted by you as martyrs sacrificing themselves for Liberals success.Minority's (gay/lesbian, immigrants, natives etc.) rights should be protected by charter of rights and must not be taken away by the tyranny of majority. Do you know parliment also passed law to ban Chinese coming here many years ago. Voting is definitely wrong way when it coming to protect minority.
If PC is not going to take on existing health care system, don't expect to your Tax Freedom Day to come any time before June.
